 För ett forskningsprojekt söker vi under en begränsad tidsperiod - 6 månader - en person med erfarenhet inom naturvetenskaplig forskning, kemisk analys, och i synnerhet uppsamling och analys av flyktiga ämnen. Erfarenhet med analys av doftämnen som avges av djur är meriterande.

Om jobbet
Vi fick ett tidsbegränsat forskningsanslag för att undersöka doftkommunikation hos en invasiv plattmask. Vi söker en person som kommer att samla flyktiga ämnen från plattmasken och dess bytesdjur, t ex daggmaskar, och anlysera doftinsamlingar med gaskromatografi kopplad till masspektrometri (GC-MS).

Din bakgrund 
Erfarenhet med uppsamling av doftämnen från djur, och i synnerhet med kemisk analys och GC-MS är meriterande.

Inom Avdelningen för Kemisk Ekologi vid Institutionen för Växtsyddsbiologi undersöker vi kemiska signaler som är viktiga i synnerhet för insekternas kommunikation. Nya forskningsinsatser riktas nu mot invasiva plattmaskar.

Arbetsuppgifter:

Som kvalitetsingenjör kommer du att utgöra en viktig roll på Nexam Chemical. Ditt fokus är kvalitetskontroll av Nexams produkter som produceras både internt och med deras externa produktionspartners. I denna varierande roll är dina huvudsakliga uppgifter att samla in prover och utföra analyser tillsammans med att granska och godkänna resultaten. Du hanterar också underhåll och kalibrering av QC-utrustning. Dessutom ger du råd till produktionsteamet vid kvalitetsproblem och utvecklar kontinuerligt metoder för att mäta produkternas kvalitetsprestanda. Du har ett nära samarbete med produktionsteamet och har ett gott samarbete med andra, både inom och utanför företaget. Dessutom stöder du Company Sustainability Strategy och Vision samt arbetar efter ISO 9001.

Utbildning, Erfarenhet och personliga egenskaper:

• Eftergymnasial utbildning inom kemi, alternativt motsvarande arbetslivserfarenhet.
• Erfarenhet av kvalitetstestning av polymera material.
• Flytande kunskaper i engelska, svenska är meriterande.

För att lyckas i rollen ser vi att du är detaljorienterad och tar stort ansvar för dina arbetsuppgifter. Som person har du ett samarbetsinriktat förhållningssätt och tycker om att arbeta i tvärfunktionella team med verksamhet i flera länder. Tasks and responsibilities:

As a Quality Control Engineer you will play an important role in Nexam Chemical. Your focus is quality control of Nexams products which are produced both internally and with their external production partners. In this varied role, your key tasks are to collect samples and perform analysis along with reviewing and approving the results. You are also managing the QC Equipment maintenance and calibration. Besides that, you provide advice to the Production team in the event of any quality issues and continuously develop methods for measuring quality performance of the products. It's also important that you maintain a good collaboration with others, both within and outside the company. Furthermore, you support the Company Sustainability Strategy and Vision. The successful candidate will also manage the local ISO 9001 accredited Quality Management System, including overseeing the audit and management review schedule as well as working with the ethos of continual improvement.

Education, Experience and Personal characteristics:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
• Experience of Quality Control Testing of Polymeric Materials.
• Fluent in English, Swedish is meritorious.

Tasks and responsibilities:

As a Development Engineer at Nexam Chemical, you belong to the Business Development team. Initially, you work with solutions that simplifies and improve the recycling of plastics. Your primary responsibilities are to carry out short term development projects which can include specific customer support activities but also development of tailored solutions and products. You have about 2-3 projects of varying nature running at the same time. Most of your work is performed in the lab with our micro compounder and pilot extruders. As you grow into the role, you will have the opportunity to participate in customer meetings to present your results and what you developed. You will work in close collaboration with all functions in the company but especially with Quality Control and R&D. Furthermore, the position offers a high degree of freedom and you plan and execute your work together with your colleagues from the other departments. For example, you work closely together with the production team during the upscaling of newly developed products.

Education, Experience and Personal characteristics:

• Master’s degree in chemical engineering or similar.
• Experience of working in a similar position is meritorious.
• Fluent in English, Swedish is meritorious.
